1. Frequency of Wear

The more often you wear your halo, the faster it will show signs of wear. Daily wearers can expect 3–6 months of great-looking use, while those who wear their halo a few times a week can often extend this to 9–12 months.

2. Heat Styling

Our Kanekalon synthetic fibres are heat-friendly up to 130°C. Regularly exceeding this temperature will degrade the fibre quality and shorten the lifespan of your extension significantly. Always use a heat protectant and keep tools on a low setting.

3. How You Store It

Storing your halo extension loosely in a drawer or bag can cause tangling, matting, and fibre damage. Always store it on its original packaging, a halo stand, or in a silk bag to preserve the style and fibre integrity.

4. Washing Frequency and Method

Over-washing strips the fibres of their conditioning and can cause them to become dry and frizzy. We recommend washing your halo every 15–20 wears using a gentle, sulphate-free shampoo and cool water only.

5. Brushing Technique

Always brush from the ends upwards using a soft paddle brush or loop brush. Brushing aggressively from the root can cause shedding and fibre breakage, reducing the lifespan of your extension.

We don't recommend it. Sleeping in your halo causes friction, tangling, and fibre stress that will significantly shorten its lifespan. Always remove it before bed.

Can I swim with my halo extension?

Avoid swimming in chlorinated or salt water with your halo extension. Both can dry out and damage the synthetic fibres. If you do get it wet, rinse immediately with cool fresh water and allow to air dry.

Does the wire wear out?

The wire is designed to be durable, but it can stretch over time with heavy daily use. If the wire becomes too loose to hold the extension in place, contact us — replacement wires are available.
